WIP List

Merideath's post got me thinking about making a WIP list.  It's fairly nontrivial.
  • Fletcher-Flynn Foundation:
    1. Quid Pro Quo: Short piece to bring Perry back into play, show some questionable financial decisions on the part of the foundation members, and have a reason for Phineas and Isabella to argue. I tend to play them as far too perfect a couple; need to work on that. About 1/3 written.
    2. And Then There Were Four: Short piece to show where Vanessa fits in with the rest of the Foundation. Minimal piece written.
    3. The Best Part of the Day: Phineas, on waking up in the morning. Minimal piece written.
    4. Millicent: Next major story in the timeline. Millicent sends Ferb's half-siblings to live with him for the summer. Adventure and sibling bonding ensue. About 1 chapter written.
  • Mistletoe/Brother timeline:
    1. Like Father, Like Son (needs a new title): Set a year and a half or so after Like Kissing Her Brother. Vanessa accidentally gets pregnant. Her boyfriend is still in high school. Lawrence flips out with flashbacks to Ferb's birth. Mental outline only.
  • Explicit Stories:
    1. Under Contract: The piece getting the most work right now; likely to be my longest individual story ever written.  Almost 10,000 words so far, and not quite half done. AU-slavery, in which Gretchen gets sold and Vanessa gets framed for a crime she didn't commit. Should cover 'slavefic' on my Trope Bingo board and 'power exchange' on my Kink Bingo board.
    2. Head Games: My first-ever first-person work. Isabella's dealing with some head issues caused by her mother, and isn't sure she can have a sexual relationship at all. Phineas has some ideas that may help. About 1/4 written but needs an overhaul.
    3. Multiplicity: Another ASV Hornet story, set much later. Anna ends up with four copies of Kepheus due to a mat-trans accident. Fills the 'gangbang' square on my Kink Bingo board. About 2/3 written.
    4. Evil Vibrations: The first fanfic I wrote; technically part of the Foundation timeline, but not compliant anymore. Phineas and Isabella having fun in the back yard, while Vanessa tries her hand at evil. Complete but needs massive overhaul.
    5. Thwart Me: Another in the Foundation timeline; Vanessa and Ferb roleplaying a bit. About 1/3 complete.
    6. Untitled Avengers story: Steve and Darcy transported to another world by Loki and captured/enslaved by the natives. Originally planned out for the 'fuck or die' square on my Trope Bingo board. Mentally outlined.
    7. Untitled rope/chains story: Vanessa (or possibly Wendy from Gravity Falls) doing some bondage modeling to put herself through college. Mental outline only.
  • Crossovers/Fusions:
    1. Madness Takes Its Toll: Crossover with Narbonic and Skin Horse. About 2/3 complete at 5000 words.
    2. Phineasific Rim: Fusion with Pacific Rim. Mentally outlined but nothing written down yet.
    3. Untitled Avengers Fusion: Fusion with Avengers. Phineas as Captain America (and Isabella as Darcy!). Cast assigned but no plot yet.
  • Other Stories:
    1. Untitled Six Exposures for Baljeet/Ginger: Per request of another user. Some mental planning, but stuck on it right now.
    2. Just A Hero: Memorial Day story for next year. Maybe 1/2 done.
    3. Beta Reader: Original story deconstructing some A/B/O tropes. Mentally outlined.
    4. Boys and Their Toys: Dark P&F setting where P&F went evil and took over the Tri-State Area. Four character vignettes written, one of which needs to be dumped and replaced; major story to follow, loosely outlined.
    5. Untitled It's Complicated Sequel: In which Phineas and Isabella try to balance their renewed relationship with the needs of starting at separate colleges in a new city. (May end up E-rated, not sure yet.) Mentally outlined.
Assorted others exist only in my 'ideas' file. That's 20 stories, 11 of which have actual text written.

Oy.

Current plan is to finish off the Kink Bingo board with Under Contract, Multiplicity, and the untitled rope/chain story, then get another board and see what I can do with it.

[Edited to add Untitled It's Complicated Sequel.]

Announcement post.

I'm not sure if I'm going to grab a second board. I think right now I'm going to wait until I finish at least one more Kink Bingo story, and we'll see if I'm able to rattle through the remaining Kink Bingo stories. If I'm going to need non-KB stories as palate cleansers, I'll probably look into a TB board to give me ideas.

I can't even blame meinterrupted for this one.  It's all rmc28's fault; I read That's Not My Avenger and my thoughts went to other kiddie books that would make for interesting crossovers.  My kids love the Pigeon books, so it went into the to-do list, but I couldn't find a good way to fit it with P&F.

And then this thought occurred to me biking home yesterday, and it got written up today.

Don't Let The Kaiju Smash The Jaeger.

Yeah, my brain is a strange and scary place sometimes.

It's been a week and a half since my last status post, where I bemoaned being ambushed by plotbunnies. The bunnies made me write It's Complicated, and then follow it up with Welcome To The Lab and No Shovel Required. And now I have but one square to go to complete my bingo, but au: space is a bit tricky to work with when the big crossover special has the main five kids surfing the asteroid belt. I think I've figured out what to do with it, but it's kind of funky.

Isabella's writing Space Adventure fanfic.

It's worse than that. She's writing kinky fanfic. With herself and Phineas as thinly-disguised characters. (This will also enable its use on the Kink Bingo board as well, probably in the 'ropes/chains' square.)

Oh, and her character is a total Mary Sue. (Captain Anna Rivera-Kaplan of the ASV Hornet; her first officer is Commander Cepheus Connors.)

This really needs a better title than what it currently has, which is so bad I won't even name it. It's going to end up E-rated, I'm pretty sure.

On another note entirely, Tuff Enuff, my T-rated 'penance/punishment' kink bingo story, progresses. I posted some lines from it in the Sunday Six, and got into a discussion about it on deviantArt - basically, discussing whether Buford/Gretchen is a pairing that works. The further into the story I get, the more I think it works, but I'm not going all OTP on it. It's about 2/3 done at this point, I think; need Buford's last penance, and a resolution.

No progress on anything else, really. I have the outline for Phineasific Rim, but I really need to add another long fic to the unfinished list like I need a hole in the head. (There's already five there: the Narbonic crossover, the next Fletcher-Flynn Foundation story, the dark P&F setting, and two E-rated stories, Under Contract and Head Games. And that's with me giving up on The One You Wouldn't Expect From Me and salvaging bits of it for use in other stories - such as Becky, Rachel, and Miriam in No Shovel Required.)

Figured it's time for a status update. Three stories are completed now, and one more is in progress, a rite of passage/coming of age story tentatively titled "No Shovel Required". I'm bouncing around a couple ideas for the au:space; most promising right now is a fusion between Pacific Rim and 2001.

Again: blame meinterrupted. And Pacific Rim. Because PACIFIC RIM!

So, meinterrupted commented that she couldn't think of any fandom that couldn't make a good fusion with Pacific Rim. And I tried to think of one, because I'm stubborn that way. And I thought of The Muppet Show. Hah. That'd show her.

And then this happened.

Welcome To The Lab, an excerpt from a Muppet Show/Pacific Rim fusion that I am NOT GOING TO WRITE.

I don't think I've ever been so pleased to prove somebody else's point before.

So I thought through a P&F/Pacific Rim crossover ("Phineasific Rim") on the bike ride in this morning.

Doof has taken over Danville with an array of Normbots, which keep getting larger.  Danville is enclosed in a force dome that keeps anyone from attacking his base; nobody knows what's happening in there.

The remnants of the OWCA have built large robots to combat the Normbots. Initially they were piloted by animal agents, but as the Normbots and the Jaegers (as the OWCA's robots became known) got larger, animals weren't up to the task; they moved to humans, and then to paired humans to compensate.

Marshal Monogram leads what's left of the OWCA, which has eight months to defeat Doof before they decide to just leave him inside the 100-mile exclusion zone around Danville; they're sure their wall will keep him from getting out.  (Somebody's forgotten that Normbots can fly.)

Monogram used to be a Jaeger pilot himself, rescuing Ginger Hirano after her parents and older sister were killed in a Normbot attack. He's raised her as his daughter, but she wants to get into a Jaeger and get revenge for her family.

Django and Jenny Brown were top pilots, racking up kills in the Malevolent Monotreme until she was killed by the death throes of a Mark III Normbot. Now he's a broken man, working on the wall because he can't bear to get back into a Jaeger.

Phineas and Ferb are working on research, trying to find a way to defeat the Normbots and break through the dome. Phineas is driven by the thought that Isabella might still be alive in there, a slave to Doofenshmirtz; Ferb's insistence that she must be dead by now has driven a wedge between the brothers. Phineas is focusing his work on the Normbots, while Ferb focuses on the dome.

Part of the brothers' concern is that their sister, Candace, and her husband Jeremy are two of the few remaining pilots, in the ancient Jaeger called the Gigantic Giraffe. Two other Jaegers are still fighting: Lightning Leopard, piloted by brothers Thaddeus and Thor, and Precocious Panda, piloted by three brothers from Marshwood.

Now the Malevolent Monotreme is back up and running with a fresh coat of teal paint. And Marshal Monogram needs a pair of pilots for it...

This isn't what I'm supposed to be writing. Not at all. It's all meinterrupted's fault for mentioning the fusion idea.

Let me just say: this movie, in and of itself, has entirely justified the creation of the IMAX 3D format. I found myself leaning forward, totally drawn into the movie, several times - I never do that.

I had been wondering if it was 'space' enough for an au: space spot on my trope bingo board; no, although a space AU for it could be interesting. Giant mecha traveling through space, beating up space-sharks.

On the other hand, an au: fusion with P&F...ooh.  We've already got the reckless scientist, and the one with the British accent, so there's Phineas and Ferb themselves.  Female Japanese pilot...Ginger, that's your cue, unless you're going to let Stacy do it.  Pair you up with...oh, let's say Django, just for grins and giggles.  I always ship you with Baljeet, let's go for some variety.  I'm envisioning a platypus-shaped jaeger for some reason.  Need to ponder this some more.
