Three for Thursday: Open Enrollment
Oct. 10th, 2013 05:00 pmOn Thursday, post three things you love about a story.
This week's selection is a very new one: Open Enrollment by Kathar. This is MCU/Agents of SHIELD, and manages something I'd never thought possible: a G-rated story about sex pollen. And I love it. Things I love include:
- I love the whole concept here. The idea that sex pollen (or equivalent) is so common that SHIELD has forms to handle it, and they're just dealt with as part of your HR paperwork. It's beautiful.
- That lovely feeling of betrayal when Simmons finds out Fitz has changed ICOAA partners on her. It's just perfect.
- "In retrospect, perhaps she didn't know what to bribe slime molds with." I love many individual lines in this story, but this one stands out even above the rest.
