Ultimately, it's all HalyPooH's fault.
She started posting a crossover story between P&F and Gravity Falls, which I'd been hearing good things about. So, what the heck, I figured I'd try an episode and see if I liked it.
It's a kid-friendly animated Twin Peaks. And completely awesome.
So, yeah, I may not have written as much recently, because I'm still only 65% through the first season. My older son wants to watch it with me, so I can't just burn through it. (The younger son wants to watch too, which makes it a bit iffier - we ended up watching the Summerween episode just before bedtime, and needed emergency cute stories so he could sleep.)
Actually, progress goes well. The T-rated Space Adventure story is up to about 2500 words; I'm guessing we'll end at about 5k. (It's really more of a Star Trek pastiche than Space Adventure fanfic, I think, but I'm willing to call it close enough.)
We've met all our characters now:
- Captain Anna Kaufman-Hernandez (Isabella)
- Commander Kepheus Connors (Phineas - first officer)
- Lt. Commander Magda Hahn (Gretchen - second officer/head of Science)
- Lt. Commander Bowyer (Ferb - Hephaestan alien, chief engineer)
- Lieutenant Commander Georgia Jones (Holly - chief medical officer)
- Lieutenant Mei Utada (Ginger - helm)
- Lieutenant Raji Rai (Baljeet - navigation)
- Lieutenant Roger de Groot (Buford - head of security/chief redshirt)
And we've introduced the massive UST between Anna and Kepheus. Because Isabella isn't just writing this one for grins and giggles. This is her latest attempt at clue delivery to the boy across the street. (Which, of course, is going to lead to Phineas asking two questions: "Which one of our friends is this Kepheus guy supposed to be? And why am I not in the story?")
Another story ambushed me this morning (literally this morning) after reading a Steve/Darcy fic, and I've found my free space fill for Kink Bingo - Exposure/Exhibitionism. 5+1 Phinbella. (...go fig.)
