Status: With My Fic Or On It
Sep. 2nd, 2013 03:04 pmEveryone's out of the house for a few hours. I need to vacuum the hallway before they get back, but other than that, I've got some time to work on Under Contract.
We've passed the 10k word level finally - I was stuck halfway through Chapter 6 for over a month, but we're into Chapter 9 now with three scenes I need to go back for. Current word count is 11314, and that includes the remaining outline; not sure if we're going to hit 20k after all, but we'll certainly pass the 12k that What's Up, Doc hit. Goal for today is to finish Chapter 9 and go back and finish one of the scenes I skipped. (Which are, basically: smut, kinky smut, and silliness, in order.) Hoping to get back and work on it some more tonight as well.
Current plan: write until 4pm (about 45 minutes), then take a break to start dinner and vacuum. Meinterrupted got me thinking soup, so we're doing easy beef stew tonight. Take one container pre-chopped mirepoix and one container pre-chopped onions, garlic, and shallots. (Yes, that's onions in both. I fail to see a problem here.) Soften them up in some olive oil while chopping the beef. Add the beef, cook until browned. Add beef broth and spices to taste. (A couple bay leaves, some thyme, some oregano, some salt and pepper, some paprika, some sage...anything that looks interesting in the spice cupboard may end up in there.) Cook for a while. When everyone gets home, add some starch - chopped sweet potatoes tonight. Cook for another half-hour, then serve.

Okay, got in about 30 minutes of writing before I remembered I needed to make a grocery run for stuff for my wife. Finished chapter 9, but didn't get back to any skipped scenes. Vacuumed, and now need to go start dinner. Fun.
