Sunday Six: Untitled Millicent Story
Sep. 1st, 2013 12:35 pmEach Sunday, post six sentences from a writing project — published, submitted, in progress, for your cat — whatever.
This week’s Sunday Six is from the next major story in the Fletcher-Flynn Foundation timeline. Vanessa has just received a letter in the mail from England.
Dear Vanessa,
Please allow me to congratulate you on your marriage to my son, and the most recent world-changing technology that your Foundation has released.
You’re probably wondering why I’m sending this to you instead of to Ferbinand - I assume he’s told you of the mistakes I’ve made and the ways I’ve hurt him. I know he doesn’t want to talk to me any more, and I don’t really blame him.
I do not write on my own behalf, though. As he may or may not have told you, Ferbinand has two half-siblings, Amelia and Henry. They’re getting to an age when they need good role models like Lawrence was for Ferbinand, and their father is no longer a part of their lives.
I would like them to spend part of this summer with you, if possible. I think being around the two of you would help them turn into good adults in ways that their current schooling situation cannot. Please ring me at +44 01632 960555 if you are willing to help.
Your mother-in-law,
Millicent Cooper White
