status: long week indeed

foobar137Not much fiction-writing progress this week, which was expected. Been staying late at work, getting a couple extra hours in in the evenings. Made really good progress today, and my boss commented on it, which is a really nice feeling.
There has been some progress, though. I wrote another half-chapter of Under Contract (Chapter 6: Things Hit The Fan, wherein the problems that everyone thought were all solved back in chapter 3 turn out to be considerably less solved then expected.)
Went through the new tropes in the latest Trope Bingo mod post, and worked through a story idea that had come to me a while back for the Fletcher-Flynn Foundation timeline. I'm currently calling it "Triumph" - it's the story of Ginger and Baljeet's wedding, and her feeling of triumph over all the folks who doubted her along the way. It'll be a nice flash-forward in the timeline, too, with hints of the future kids for Phineas/Isabella and Ferb/Vanessa, plus I think it'll include Amelia and Henry, Ferb's half-siblings.
Poked at a Phineas fic in the FFF timeline as well, "The Best Part of the Day", about waking up in the morning. Vaguely plotted it out on the bike ride home.
Also came up with an idea for an alternate pairing that I really like: Buford and Gretchen. She's always seen as the 'smart' Fireside Girl, with the big vocabulary and glasses; Buford's shown hidden depths, and I think they'd really be a cute couple. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
Worked out the madness specialties of all the mad scientists in Madness Takes Its Toll. I really should have known better than to write a story with seven different mad scientists, two of whom go mad in the course of the story.
Looking forward to this weekend. Even if another birthday means I'm getting older; still beats the alternative.
